I love this thing. Images are sharp and apart from the extra coverage I don't even notice them. The biggest surprise for me was that it auto-focuses at all apertures. I've read that f8 is the limit, so I expected that using a large lens would mean shooting wide open if I wanted to use autofocus, but that's not the case. I've shot autofocus images up to f22 and I'm very glad I bought it. The attached picture of the squirrel was taken from about 30 feet. The listed focal length for this shot is 855mm, while the 35mm focal length is 1275mm. The other picture is an enlarged view of the squirrel's eye from the first picture. The reflection you see is the trellis on the patio 12 feet above the squirrel.
