Review on Intel Celeron G5905 2-Core Desktop Processor 3.5GHz LGA1200 (Intel 400 Series Chipset) 58W by Jnis Krmi ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I didn't expect the quality to be so high.

Prots in general for their money, just great. I want to say right away that I have a great experience in using a PC and I have been assembling computers for more than 10 years and from the most basic PC, with a server Xeon e5 2650v2, rx 6600xt, and blah blah blah, there is something to compare and not only with this. But then the moment came with the move and it was necessary to assemble something quickly, while some spare parts were already there, an ssd drive and a hard drive, as well as a matx case. I chose this percentage, because it's a modern architecture, a cheap price, support for win11 (and whatever you say, it's no longer the future, it's already the present), for less than 3000r, we also get a built-in. I stuck it into the Asrock h510m hvs r2.0 board, perhaps the cheapest on the h510 chip (I chose it because pci-e 4.0, for a further upgrade). It perfectly copes with my tasks, namely: playing multimedia players, YouTube, downloading from torrents, working with browsers with a bunch of tabs, creating multi-page pdf files. Now about the games. Some very old games or new 2D casual games, there will be enough built-in, but in the same tanks there will not be enough for adequate use. I had to add a gtx750 and everything together works well, as for tanks, the settings are average, the lock is 60 FPS, if desired, you can tweak the settings and it will be about 100 FPS. And the most incredible thing is that he pulls far cry 5! Yes, these are low settings with anti-aliasing, lock at 30 FPS, real FPS 24-30, with rare drawdowns up to 20 and damn it, it's playable! So the processor exceeded even my expectations. If your requirements are not higher than mine, then you can safely buy. But of course, the Pentium will be much better in multitasking, but its price is closer to i3, and this is generally a different level. But this level will be felt, for now, only in games and in some rare cases, when there are several serious operations, for example, installing a game and trying to play in another game. He simply may not open it or wait a long time. In general, you need to understand that here you need to consistently give a heavy load, otherwise this stone is only pleasing.

Pros
  • Performance for a desktop PC, heat dissipation is minimal, the last socket for which all old cooling systems are suitable, support for windows 11, the ability to upgrade up to 10 and the core i9 nuclear beast.
Cons
  • Multitasking, of course, is lame, I already forgot that if the system is loaded, for example, by installing a heavy application, then it’s better not to try and run some second heavy application. This happens quite rarely, but when you get used to multi-core, such a thing becomes a surprise. Of course, you can’t play modern games, but depending on which ones, about it in the comments.

Has pros: Integrated graphics core, low power consumption. Cons: Weak processor, only for study.

I bought it in vain, it was necessary, at least i3, and preferably i5 12400.
