Review on πŸ–₯️ TESmart HDMI KVM Switch 4 Port 4K@60Hz Ultra HD 4x1 + 2x 5ft KVM Cables | Keyboard & Mouse Pass Through | USB 2.0 Device Support (Black) by Josh Chenier

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works well, does not go out when shifting. Finally!

Not a long read: TESmart does everything well other switches do badly, like everything else. They don't sell it anymore, but the same basic model goes around in circles. USB effectively plugs and unplugs with each switch, and you often have to plug and unplug USB and HDMI cables or restart the entire device. garbage city. So I bit the bullet and paid $160 for a highly hyped TESmart switch after discovering that it supports 4K 60MHz. (I think Revain shuffles all reviews regardless of SKU, so FYI). It has a silly industrial design that put me off, but it's the real deal. It supports USB connection with PC, so switching is INSTANT and you don't get "USB disconnect" when switching. I've never dropped a keyboard or mouse since it happened multiple times a day with the old KVM. I had a period where I couldn't get the monitor to wake up when I switched to input, but toggling back and forth fixed it. The only downside is that for some reason the scroll wheel on my cheap Microsoft mouse got really slow -- although I had to increase the "scroll per click" on the wheel to 50 and it's still too slow in some applications. I haven't fixed this issue yet and it's easy to live with considering how good this switch is at everything else.

Pros
  • Robust construction
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
