These collars have worked great for solving barking problems in my house. I have a dog that barks at any random movement outside and another that is terrified of barking at people. My dogs are already used to electronic collars so they are already familiar with the beep and vibration. This allows me to use them effectively in "No Shock" mode. The way the "Bang Mode" alternates between beep, vibration and gradually increasing impact is ideal for training dogs that are new to signals. You learn fast. Collars are triggered by the barking of other dogs that are in close proximity. It's just "the nature of the beast". So, in this situation, it's important to set the setting to "no shock" or make sure they're not exposed to any other nearby barks while they're exercising. I am currently using these on my 16lb MinPin and 55lb Lab so they are great for both small and large dogs. Waterproof, quick release buckles and long battery life are other features I like about these collars.
