The cord and socket set was of good quality and I appreciated that the ends were already stripped and ready to use. However, as a newbie plugging in a lamp for the first time, I found the instructions a bit lacking. Thank god for Google! I had the most difficult time figuring out which wire was positive (hot) and which wire was negative (neutral). The ribbing they referred to was not easy to identify. I had to study it several times before I was sure which is which! I found a great video online that shows you step by step how to make a UL knot. So I finally completed the project and the lamp actually works! I would recommend this product and if you have electrical experience I'm sure there will be an easy fix. But if you're new to it, know that you can still complete your project with this kit... maybe with a little help from the internet!
