The cord and socket set was of good quality and I appreciated that the ends were already stripped and ready to use. However, as a newbie plugging in a lamp for the first time, I found the instructions a bit lacking. Thank god for Google! I had the most difficult time figuring out which wire was positive (hot) and which wire was negative (neutral). The ribbing they referred to was not easy to identify. I needed to rewire my literally huge 70's lamp and this kit matched the lamp's brass well and was relatively easy to install (although the instructions aren't the best).
