I bought this machine on July 1st and am writing this review on October 30th. Decided that I would use it for a few months before reviewing. I've only used it with quilted cotton and plush polyester fleece. I sew them about 25-27 hours a month. Cons: Plastic is very thin and scratches easily. The threads have already made grooves, and the fabric has been rubbing against the platen just from skipping/feeding. Tension has no units, so you cannot set it to a specific position. You just turn the knob and make your best guess. The cut pieces of fabric can get caught in the threading area of the front door, so you need to tape/block them (I use duct tape) to keep them from getting inside and getting tangled in the threads. My biggest frustration is that no matter how I adjust the tension, upper loopers, lower loopers, stitch length, differential, etc., the stitch still gets wavy. Countless flashings, tutorials, thread types and nothing fixes. My newest machines never did that, so I had to force myself to just accept it. If your seams are showing, avoid this machine. Luckily for the products I make it doesn't matter, but I like my stitches to be even. Pros: Thread stays in place after threading, so this machine is great if you hate threading. In general, filling is incredibly simple and easy. Needles never break, even when dull. The blade is absolutely spectacular for thick fabrics. The machine is quite quiet and runs smoothly, so ideal for sewing with insomnia. My favorite car is the Juki, I'm just not a big fan of this one. So far he's doing his job. I would recommend it for those who don't sew too much or for the elderly. I would not recommend it for general sewing or crafting.
