I had this and a Xerox Versalink C405. The Versalink is second to none in print quality and speed for the price, in fact for anything under $1,000, even with photos due to its 8-bit depth. The Workcenter has a higher resolution, but the image quality is far from that of the Versalink. However, the Versalink scanner stopped working and stalled the entire printer even though it was printing the first few pages and the first spooled page when I restarted the printer. no problem. So after 2 years the Versalink became unusable and I bought a new toner and all the supplies for it including an expensive paper cartridge. I only had 8k prints. The Workcentre has never let me down but I brought it back for Versalink because it had horrible streaks on solid colors. The color mixture printed well, but if there were solid particles it would look terrible. This printer uses the same scanner as the Versalink and I see people complaining about the same scanner issues that I had with the Versalink. In short, I am extremely mad at Xerox and will never buy a product from them again. I spent a lot on this Versalink because on paper this thing was supposed to last a long time. But I found myself replacing rollers on 5k prints because they smudged black toner onto each print and I had to buy all 4. Then 3k prints, after that the thing breaks by itself and becomes a $400-500 fix. It's not just Xerox, laser printers have many moving parts and things that can go wrong for the home user. This is for a business that expects regular printer maintenance and just needs to turn page after page. Buy a tank printer if it's for home use and you don't print an awful lot.
