A cesspool installed. Now "Gravity" allows water to pass through this hole, but only after it is almost full. So in my case it's kind of a rejection. Only when we have heavy rain I don't worry about it. However, I wanted to install the pump to stay lower since the GROUND around (and even under) my house/basement is saturated with water and I wanted to try to help it (relatively speaking) faster. Also, I want to be able to avoid overflowing my sump (natural drainage) with higher flow. So I needed a swamp that turns on and off automatically. This one looked good. I bought it, got the appropriate adapters to connect my hose (for now), and let it go. Went like clockwork. After about a week, going down and checking regularly, I noticed that my sump was nearly full (to a level where it would naturally drain through the top pipe). The pump MUST run and turn on when the tank is only 1/3 full. A simple shake of the hose attached to the sump, which shook the sump, was enough to turn it on. Then it works normally (on and off) for a short time. (It's easy for me to verify because I regularly get about 0.5 gallons of constant flow into my sump). But at some point it stopped working. I went hunting for almost a week, came home after a few good showers, went down to my basement and the floor was all wet. We've had enough rain to block my sump's natural drainage (no pump) which is why I want a sump first. I really liked this pump. I like his power, I like how well he pumps. I like that it's quiet, but at the end of the day I need a reliable pump that turns on and off reliably and this pump is NOT the one. If he can't do the main thing I need him for, I have nothing to do with it. I have requested a refund/refund and will look into another model.
