I bought this cable to connect a thunderbolt dock to my laptop so the protruding cable doesn't stick out the side of the laptop 3" and possibly snag on something remains maybe break the USB-C connector. I now have a nice right angle dongle that only sticks out 3/4" from the side and my heavy Thunderbolt dock cable neatly tucked away in the back of the laptop. I tried a few right angle adapters first but the dongle is plenty better and puts less strain on the port.I liked it so much I bought a second one for my other laptop. The build quality seems very good and the USB-C fits very well on either end as it should I have one Few photos attached so you can see the setup and better understand why you bought it.Right angle buttons are required so things don't stick out to the side.I tested an external USB-C enclosure with an NVME SSD like this one Keys at right angles, and without them, and benchmarking showed no decrease in read/write speeds. Speed. I could only measure Thunderbolt 2 and USB 3.2 speeds. You mu You need to test your Thunderbolt 3 devices to see if there is a speed difference. I'm not sure if this is actually a certified Thunderbolt 3 cable, but it seems to meet my needs. Pros: Good build quality, takes the strain off your ports, fits things you plug and unplug frequently to reduce wear and tear on your laptop port. Disadvantages: none.
