Review on πŸ“Ά CradlePoint CTR35 Portable Wireless N Router by Paul Hubbard

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Too buggy and unstable - Update/Update

An update to the original review below. I accidentally found a firmware update and downloaded it to stay current. I then checked the release notes and found that Cradlepoint was receiving comments and complaints similar to mine, and included the fix in the new Fireware release. After two days of working with the updated firmware, I can report that the recovery not working issue is gone and everything is working as expected. Good job Cradlepoint. So I've raised my rating to 4 stars. Why not 5? I just think that with proper testing, issues like this shouldn't hit the market at all. _______________ Purchased this item through Revain hoping to save on using my Clear USB broadband modem. This modem works fine in one place in my house but not in another. The wireless Cradlepoint router and two wireless USB adapters (one for each computer) were designed to solve the problem of my being able to use a clear modem (connected to the router) located at my workstation and other locations served. Sometimes the cradle point will automatically activate and connect to the computer adapters, sometimes not. Seems like it needs a power cycle to reinitialize. This defeats the purpose and intention of having an active router available at all times. And even if the computer claims to recognize the router/modem combo, sometimes I still can't connect to AOL or Firefox and have to install the USB modem directly into the computer. In fact, the device seems too buggy, unstable and unreliable. We have to find the best solution.
