Great lights at first but now that they are 5 months old one stopped working

I was very happy with these lights despite some design flaws that made installation and correct alignment difficult. Now that I've had them in my 2015 GMC Sierra for 5 months, one of the lights only works intermittently. When I checked that the connection was correct, the conversion block was too hot to hold, so I'm guessing that if it overheats it will stop working(?)
