These are fantastic little connectors. The heat activates the shrink tubing, the sealant on each end, and after a while it will melt the solder. You need at least 280 degrees Fahrenheit. I use a desoldering tool because the small fan I use for shrinking isn't hot enough. I also have a reducing nozzle on the desoldering tool to concentrate the flow of hot air. It takes about 15 seconds for the solder to melt completely. Once connected, you're good to go. It is durable and waterproof. I also took a few apart. This requires serious effort. When I finally managed to break the connection, I broke the copper wires. The silicone sleeve stretched almost an inch and the seals didn't dive at all.
