I wanted to make this good on my '89 F150 by welding one end to the new intermediate tube and the other end to my existing head tube. MUCH cheaper than an OEM factory replacement! The flared end of my 2 1/4" intermediate tube slid into the other end of the shell with too much clearance, so I welded it in instead of using a clamp. Dimensions aren't listed on the ad, but if you use clamps and slide tubes To use this unit you will need 2 5/8" heavy duty clamps. This is OD on both ends of the cat. The sizing isn't that common, but a real parts store should or can order it for you. The metal pickup on the coil is quite thick, so I definitely recommend heavy-duty clamps that you can apply some torque to without breaking the clamps. I hope you find it useful.
