I had to install several devices in the bathroom to help my 92 year old mother use the toilet. This bar is the last. After she collapsed in the bathroom and tried in vain to hold on to the shower curtain, I realized there was a safety hazard here. I looked at several ADA websites on the internet to see what options might help in this situation. I finally found this R8960FDW safety bar for only $80! It was like a dream, but I had to buy a 1/2" wrench/socket for my drill. The bathtub has fiberglass casing and the screws grabbed it pretty easily. It looks good and doesn't detract from the overall look of the room, which is quite small. I also installed a 12" railing on the inside of the bathroom door and another just under the edge of the linen closet. Having these devices helped me a lot. She feels more secure, has more privacy and is more confident that she can continue to use the facility on her own. Well Moen if you had a 24 inch model for another wall (in white!).
