I thought it was an easy job that took less time than it could.

I am 62 years old with chronic back pain and I could NEVER climb our roof. I found this product from an internet search and was skeptical but read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Our chimney is 30 feet tall and contains as many poles as needed to reach 18 feet. Buying a second set was cheaper than just buying the extra rods, and I ended up with a spare brush and drill bit. Sitting on a small wooden chair, I attached the brush to the first pole and began pushing it up the chimney. I was able to bend the brush up and down the chimney a bit as I added more sticks to get to the top and then brushed again as I started removing the sticks. As I reached the muddy spot, I slowed down and let the dirt fall slower. My wife held the hose from the vacuum cleaner in the firebox to collect dirt. Surprisingly, I found it to be an easy task that took less time than it would have taken to get a ladder and climb onto the roof. I give this product a very high rating for ease of use, economy, resourcefulness, and durability. I never felt any of the bars break and I had no negative issues. We cleaned the poles and put them back in the crates for the next cleaning. We won't be using this fireplace more than 20-30 nights a year, I suppose cleaning the chimney once a year would be fine. Just my opinion. Now my wife and I enjoy our cozy and warm living room on winter evenings.
