My new "frenemy " UPDATE: 12/10/15

Updat 12/14/15-Maker got back to me within one day and has offered to send a replacement. They have also asked for a video of issue. I spent a good amount of time with the mirror trying to capture the "buzz" on video and have failed to recreate the issue. The only thing I found during that time was, when the lights are on, if you apply light pressure on the lighted mirror, the lights turn off. Relevant? I don't know. Regardless, In fairness to the maker, as I have been unable to QC this issue, I have upgraded it to 3 stars.UPDATE: I've owned this mirror for a few weeks now. After about 2 weeks, it started making a random buzzing noise. I pulled the batteries and it made a brief buzz (right after I took out the batteries) but it has been silent ever since. I will use the mirror without the batteries/light, but I have no idea what was causing the buzz noise. I will also advise the maker of this issue.Original review: I have never owned a makeup mirror before. I both love and hate this mirror. The magnifying mirror with it's "no flaw shall hide from me" lighting scared the crap out of me. I wanted to look away, but I couldn't. As far as the quality is concerned, it seems durable, comes with its own batteries and I can hold it one handed for quite a long time as I attempt to fix every microscopic issue on my face. The only thing that I fumble with is sliding the mirrors' base to reveal the on/off switch. It stands up well on my vanity when open, but for me, it's easier to hold it in my hand. Overall, I feel comfortable recommending this frenemy.

Pros
  • Enhances eyebrow shaping
Cons
  • The lights do not illuminate evenly, creating uneven lighting on your face
