Review on GOOFIT Carburetor Repair Newport Magnum by James Parker

It works, but Bing Carb has many different models. You may need to replace parts to make it work!

Replaced 14mm Bing parts to fit this 15mm clone. I had to have one I used an old slide, a slide needle and an idle screw. Then the carburettor worked fine on my Puch E50 engine. This carburettor came from Kromag/Puch and uses a different type of slide, needle and idle screw.I was able to use a new jet and have it drilled to the right size for my setup this seems like too much hassle and if you don't change parts you may not get a carburetor that will work with your setup but then again maybe you will.I got the new 15mm carb first tried it was equipped, but the idle was too low and went out easily. no adjustment of the idle screw made a difference, neither with the new screw nor with the old screw. the original screw has a different contu r shape, and the new choke just didn't adjust to the proper air/fuel mixture at idle. It also started cold without gasping, so it was clearly getting overfueled. The only solution was to swap the slide, needle and tensioner, after that everything worked as usual. Rails vary and your bike may need to install genuine parts to function properly.

Pros
  • Size: Jet Size: #64/58mm (2.28")
Cons
  • Mostly fine but...
