I think I was one of the first to jump on this product when it launched. I have a small toddler mug for my daughter and I thought she would love it if we had the same water bottle. However, what she did, I quickly realized had nothing to do with what it claimed. I originally bought this because I just wanted to drink while driving without fumbling with the button to open the spout or straw so it met those expectations. Yes, you can turn the bottle on its side and you'll be fine for the most part. You can also just tip it over and the water won't spill. However, water has been leaking from the bottle lately and I can't figure out why. The tank is not dirty, clogged or filled with water. Even if that were the case, I would think this is a serious design flaw as I'm pretty sure users shouldn't completely empty the tank while drinking before putting the bottle back in. 1 time out of 2 I take a bottle to drink, it spills all over my desk, my shirt, my little son while I'm feeding him etc. Thing is useless and I'm waiting for a delivery of a new water bottle which I ordered from Reiner Stainless steel. Do yourself a favor and buy something else.
