Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Enhanced 8Bitdo Xbox Remote: Long Edition Infrared Media Control for Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S by Dan Rivera

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice remote, still IR

People who can't remove the back cover of this remote: Slide off the entire back cover, not just part. It also took me a little time to figure that out. 4 stars for several reasons. This remote control comes without instructions. Not on the web either. Once I realized that there was no pairing and that it was an infrared port, I quickly got to work. You need to enable HDMI-CEC on Xbox and TV if you want power and volume to possibly work. . Because the implementation of these features is not standardized, your mileage may vary. My volume control doesn't work, it works on and off. Good enough. The product description should also state that this remote control is IR and not Bluetooth. This is important because you need line of sight in front of your Xbox. I have an Xbox in the media console so I have to hold the door open to use the remote. Not a big deal as the door is open most of the time due to the heat, but I still had to adjust the angle a bit. Other than those few things, this remote is great. Fits well in the hand, processing quality is good. The backlight is good, if a little touchy. I haven't dropped it on the floor yet, so the question of durability remains open. This remote has replaced using my SCUF Pro controller for media consumption. It's nice that I don't have to worry about damaging my expensive controller by accidentally knocking it off the armrest of the sofa. While not very durable, the $25 replacement is much nicer.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish
