The handle has two very rough spots. But to make matters worse, the entire shaft is covered in tiny shards of metal that you can't see but can find with your fingers! And they are too small to be seen/removed with tweezers. I plan on removing them from the shaft with steel wool and then painting the shaft black. I really like the giant white umbrella, otherwise I wouldn't bother with it. It will be perfect for reflecting the sun for both of us at summer lawn concerts. I hope my fingers heal quickly.
