I bought these coasters for our new house. They appear to be very sturdy and all sit flat. They are coated on the underside so they won't scratch your furniture like coffee tables or end tables do. I haven't really noticed any absorption, but then again none of my drinks have had condensation. I have more dark gray or black in my design. I know other people have received them and they look light gray or blue. I chose them because I wanted black or dark gray. I will say that they look like they will break if dropped on a hard floor or surface. But that's exactly what you get with this stand material.
