Review on πŸ“± Sutor Magnetic Cell Phone Holder: 360 Degree Rotatable Car Mount for Gold Cell Phones on Any Flat Surface by Gene Taylor

Nice simple design, not for heavier phones

I thought it was a great idea for a car mount so I ordered it. I find it beautiful and surprisingly simple in concept, but a larger phone would be more convenient to install. I like the design. The base plate is a one piece piece and the top actually comes off (if you pull hard enough). Since there is no permanent attachment, you can rotate your head to almost any angle your phone allows. The phone is secured by placing a metal plate inside the case (or gluing it to the phone if you don't mind) and then attracting the plates to a magnet. Furthermore, it's a joy to look at, with gold tones that really stand out. The base plate attaches to the car with an adhesive mount which looks better than suction cups: There are a few things to note: - This is a permanent mount so decide where you want to mount it first! On the downside, it looks better than the large suction cup mount - The mount really isn't designed for use on the windshield - preferably on the dashboard - If your phone is large (I have an HTC One M9) it will need to be sideways to be installed, not vertically - just not enough space because the base is quite short. It would probably be fine with a smaller iPhone and whatnot. I had a major issue with it that caused me to downgrade it to three stars. When I mounted my large phone on it, it tended to slide off when the car hit bumps. The phone landed on the dashboard, which worked, but the magnets just aren't strong enough for my phone. That's a shame, because otherwise I really like the design. That might work well for you, but I'd be prepared for the phone to hit the dash at the end. Summary: Nice design, but be aware that your phone may drift if it's heavy. Please note I received this for free so I can review it.
