It worked, ended up
I needed this to connect my old laptop to a new monitor. However, my computer did not recognize the monitor. I've searched a bit and found that others have had the same problem - I'm not sure if the problem is with my computer or the cable. I ended up sawing off some of the rubber surrounding the micro HDMI side (which prevented the micro HDMI side from being 100% inserted into the computer - it was about 95%), as well as the top of the micro -HDMI side (the metal part, just to make sure metal, not plastic, is fully exposed). The cable then entered my computer's port a little further and my computer recognized the monitor.
