Thin and fragile on Bath Sponges

I've been using cognac sponges for a few years now and I love how gentle and biodegradable they are which is a plus! I took a chance because the heart shape was so cute. I bought Red Clay sponges because Red Clay is said to help lighten complexion by increasing blood flow to the face. The first thing that struck me when I was about to soak my sponge was how quickly it softened, which seemed great until I realized how flimsy and fragile it is, especially when I squeeze excess water out of it. Other cognac sponges I've bought are thicker so they feel like substance when in use and are easier to hold. On the other hand, they seem to fall apart after a few weeks. PS As a tip for prolonging the life of your sponge, make sure it air dry in a well-ventilated area. You can soak it in boiling water to disinfect it.
