Review on πŸ” Improved SEO: KEF Q950 Magnetic Grille for Speaker (Each) by Ray Cole

Unbelievable good. best floorstanding speakers

I've had them for about 8 months and decided it was time to write a review. First, I'm always amazed at how good they sound. You are amazing. I wanted to get away from my 5.1 system that was always difficult to connect, hide the cables, install the speakers, adjust the sound and it never sounded perfect for music. Suitable for movies, but not for music. So I opted for a 2.1 system with floor-standing speakers. I did some research and chose these as not only did they have good reviews but they looked good too. I'll say they like power. First, I used my 7.1 channel A/V receiver, which only used 55 watts per channel. They sounded good in the mids and highs but lacked bass. I ended up getting a custom 2 channel amp, a Yamaha R-N803 rated at 145 watts per channel, and WOW woke me up to those speakers. The bass was so good I barely needed a subwoofer (but I like a lot of bass so I left it, just turned it down a lot) and the mids and highs were taken to a new level. I love how everything fits together, everything fits together so well. Nothing sharp, nothing cuts into the ear, doesn't sound muddy or out of place. The bass doesn't hum. Sitting in the middle I can close my eyes and the soundstage is just insane. Voices where they should be, instruments where they should be. And I have yet to push these speakers to their SPL limit, but I cranked them up really, really loud, they don't even seem to be sweating. zero distortion. In summary, I don't miss my surround sound system at all. I hope to keep them for years to come and will look to KEF in the future if the time comes again.
