Review on Walter 12D798 Stainless Steel Mounted Diameter by Brian Potter

I bought this to replace a set of 40 year old sharpening bits that I sometimes use with my die grinder. There are a few inconsistencies between the product photo, the product description and what I actually received. The product photo shows four different bits in different shapes and I figured that would happen. What I actually received were two identical bits that didn't look like the product photo at all. The product description mentions in one place that the bit is (?) 2 3/4 inches long and in another place that the bit is 1 inch long. The product description does not mention the four bits in the photo. The description also says the bit is Type A-3 (I had no idea what Type A-3 was until I started unraveling it). I went to the Walter Surface website and downloaded their e-catalogue. I found I was given two W-220 bits in the form of a 1" disc (not the 2 3/4" A-3 bit which is pointed). The bits I received are for grinding stainless steel (Walter also makes lower quality bits for softer steels. The inner packaging lists the product as Type A-3 but also the part number for the W-220 configuration. Generally quite confused. If Ordering this you may regret spending $6 on something you didn't order, you may also wait longer than expected to receive a mis-described grinding head like I did I would return it if it wasn't so tedious going through that $6 process If you really need Bits from Walter check out their website - they might be able to supply just what you need.For your health.
