I wish I had used them years ago. I placed them around the burners on my "new" top plate. I knew that if I kept rubbing and rubbing, my kids would spill water on the stove and the stainless steel countertop would eventually drive me crazy. I used the oven so I had to remove the items from previous owners. I wanted to avoid repeating this cleaning stage. They fit under heavy bars so no one will notice it's an insert. just a nice smooth black look if you don't look closely. To clean I just lift and rinse about once a week, sometimes you don't even need to wipe or use soap even if there is a spill. Then I put them back. 30 seconds to a clean plate. The black appears to have melted and exposed the white center in a few tiny spots where the flames approach, but it still looks better than the spills. I love it. Cheap, light, beautiful, very simple (nothing in my house cleans like this easily. Can we make toilets out of the same material? Please? My kids are pigs.) and interchangeable. Love it. Cuts with a knife or scissors, perfect for 5 or 10 minute work a third grader could do.
