Review on Continental SportContact 6 285/40 R20 104Y FP by Mateusz Gniazdowski ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The quality is ok on the whole, it has some small flaws.

On the second-generation Audi RS5, these tires were the standard, homologated tires. Except for the fact that the automobile needs to be stopped when traveling down a rut, there are no tire-related complaints throughout the city as a whole. Riding in the rain was comfortable, and hydroplaning was nonexistent. Rubber soft, adequate for silence. But all the joys of rubber are lost once you go to the track (PC5 was purchased for this). One tire's sidewall was worn down to the cord after the city's summer season and two track days on Igora Drive (and each day there were only a few track sessions, with 6-7 laps in each session). If the rubber felt like it had an infernal grip, I could be willing to understand such wear. The tire, however, did not provide the grip I anticipated from it when approaching bends, and the car experienced persistent muzzle drift. Even the rear axle made a nearly 180-degree spin while trying to throw out. Next season, exclusively Michelin. I no longer wish to be linked with Kontik.

Pros
  • Although not terrible, handling is not as good as the Michelin Pilot Sport 4c.
Cons
  • Poor handling for such wear due to rapid wear (soft rubber)
