My photographer daughter says the best camera is the one you have with you. This model is light and small enough to fit in my purse. It offers a variety of modes, from automatically holding your hand when you don't know what to do with the settings, to all sorts of user-configurable modes. Note that there are newer entries in this Canon SX range, so you should probably consider those instead. The low-light performance means you can go into dark museums or cathedrals and get great photos without having to use a flash, which makes this camera a lot better to use. And the zoom is a lot of fun, but at max power, stability is an issue if you're handheld, better if you can lean it against something or use something like a Joby GorillaPod. My daughter recommended two additional batteries and a memory card that was as large as possible, which I did and was very grateful because on trips or trips to interesting places I used up to 3 batteries a day. However, in everyday use of this camera when I'm not traveling, the battery lasts for several weeks of random photos. As for memory cards, if you run out of storage space when traveling, usually places that sell to tourists only have small capacity cards, so it is better to get plenty of storage space before leaving. My 64 GB was enough for a year of photos, including 2.5 weeks of travel, during which several thousand photos were taken. Of course, you can buy better cameras for better photo quality. Although my daughter uses better cameras, she still regularly uses her Canon SX as well as hacks that you can install on a memory card to extend the functionality of that camera using CHDK (Canon Hack Developer Kit) e.g. B. a motion trigger. Photos etc. If you would like to see examples of photos taken with this (or any other) camera, visit Flickr where you can search for photos with the camera you are using. I liked this color so much that I bought it from Revain. (No one will ever mistake their little camera for mine again.)
