Diehard Canon Digital Camera Fan

I'll start by saying I'm a HUGE fan of this model, which is kind of funny as it was one of Canon's most flawed models. I had a Canon when I was in high school. over 30 years. I got this model in 2012 and loved it to death until it died last year so I used one here and it arrived today. I already have a refurbished Canon which is great but it's not the SX260. Good point. The seller sent the package exactly on the promised date. I don't know why the USPS found it necessary to hold it in a…

Pleasantly surprised.

I was quite skeptical about buying another Point and Shoot. There were a few and they just weren't good for anything more than a macro shot or a candid pose. The test for this SX260 was the concert. The reason I wanted to point and shoot. I have an old Canon model from 2006 that takes pretty good photos with good zoom. It runs on AA batteries and won't turn on for more than a few minutes. Good. As for this SX260, I am very satisfied. I love being able to control your scene in the same way as…

If your hands are steady, aim for the moon!

First off I want to tell you that this camera is AWESOME! Even though I'm not a professional photographer, I like photographing things (not food or my face in ugly poses like "duck face" or any poses at all, I prefer photographing beautiful things and not including myself in the definition of beautiful ) and this camera performs incredibly well. Resolution is a "problem" because there's so much you can do with 12.1MP, I wish it was 20MP, but oh well, my phone has it and the images aren't as…

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

My photographer daughter says the best camera is the one you have with you. This model is light and small enough to fit in my purse. It offers a variety of modes, from automatically holding your hand when you don't know what to do with the settings, to all sorts of user-configurable modes. Note that there are newer entries in this Canon SX range, so you should probably consider those instead. The low-light performance means you can go into dark museums or cathedrals and get great photos without

  • Great design

  • Annoying

Another Canon winner

I received my SX260 last Wednesday and took about 700 pictures and some short 5 minute videos. Without writing a novel, here are the pros and cons of this block. In addition to this unit, I also bought a couple of aftermarket battery packs (and aftermarket AC adapters for about $5 each) for about $5 each and the batteries work fine. With the battery (original and non-original) I was able to take over 300 shots (50% flash) with zoom and playback and the battery indicator still showed about 25%…
