Pleasantly surprised.

I was quite skeptical about buying another Point and Shoot. There were a few and they just weren't good for anything more than a macro shot or a candid pose. The test for this SX260 was the concert. The reason I wanted to point and shoot. I have an old Canon model from 2006 that takes pretty good photos with good zoom. It runs on AA batteries and won't turn on for more than a few minutes. Good. As for this SX260, I am very satisfied. I love being able to control your scene in the same way as with DSLR cameras. This was required when purchasing a Point and Shoot. Gives you the opportunity to take great photos in a concert setting. My position in the arena wasn't that close to the artist. But the zoom worked great! Unlike other POS cameras and even some of the best phones. I have not yet viewed the photos on a computer or printed them out, but judging by the display they have wonderful color and detail. They don't look grainy at all. I noticed a little feedback when recording videos. I don't mind. I'll try to isolate and clean up some of these with editing software. Some reviews say this camera is heavy. Maybe it's for a small POS. Also, there are more innovations, new models have more plastic parts. I appreciate its construction and its "weight". To me it says it was made to last forever. For me, who is used to holding a DSLR for hours, it is by no means heavy. Although my mother with severe rheumatoid arthritis has not used it yet. All in all, this seems to be a wonderful camera. Of course there are newer models with wider zooms. Some shoot with doubling the megapixels. That doesn't necessarily mean they are better. I have seen horrible quality photos taken by some so called amazing models! There will always be something better. News. We're always moving forward. I believe this camera will stand the test of time. I will be adding photos to this review soon!
