Let me start by saying that this is the most expensive pair of slippers I have ever bought. So I expected them to be better than the regular $20-30 pairs I've worn in the past. I'm happy to report that you really do get what you pay for in this case. These Acorn slippers are cool, flashy, well tailored and hold my feet better than the regular moccasins I'm used to. They really look more like unstructured wool indoor and outdoor shoes than traditional slippers. The sole is thick/fleshy enough for you to wear it fully on the go, although I doubt I would if just to keep the wool tweed. I don't want to expose the material to the elements for long periods of time, especially if there's a chance of inclement weather. Rather, I find them ideal as indoor shoes; at least when the weather is cooler, which brings me to the explanation for my 4 star rating. The style and quality of these slippers is high, but the insulation is not. They clearly have an Autumn/Winter style, yet they do little to warm cold feet and make them cozy. Luckily, they're roomy enough to accommodate thicker socks, but in this case, the socks still do most of the insulating work. Even though they're not as warm as I was hoping, they're still the nicest slippers I've ever had.
