Review on Laptop Cooling Pad and Gaming Laptop Cooler Stand by Tay Fair

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great for small laptops, goes well with my 2021 Razer Blade 14!

I've been looking for a small cooling pad that can be used with the Razer Blade 14 (2021) and works on my lap. I think I found it after trying 4 other cooling pads including one that cost almost $50. This cooling pad is the smallest I could find. Because the Blade 14 is so light, I didn't encounter any durability issues - although I've seen it's an issue with a heavier laptop - but you only need to get it right if you're moving it. Be careful with this and you should be fine. Obviously it's not meant to be worn on my knees, but sweatpants won't make me feel uncomfortable on my knees. A rotary switch (like some lamps) clicks and turns on and also adjusts the fan speed. The fan speed impressed me. I think it matched the turbine cooling pad in terms of moving air. You can feel the air on all sides of the laptop when it is lying on the cooling pad. I also keep it tilted to keep heat away from the front of the laptop (battery area). Don't expect a huge temperature drop, but I've seen 4-5 degrees in HWiNFO, but the rest of the laptop and case definitely feels a little cooler (hoping to avoid battery bloating). Build quality Good, looks like ordinary $20 cooling pads. The fans are a bit louder than other coolpads, but given the Blade 14's fan noise, that's not an issue for me, and there aren't any unusual or otherwise objectionable noises. Mesh upper wraps the sides. It is not sharp but can cut fabric or clothing. The blue LEDs look nice, but they can't be turned off without turning off the fan. Please note that I am using a right angle USB adapter - it is not included with this panel. Very brief instructions in Chinese. Considering the price and my use case, I am very satisfied.

Pros
  • Quiet Fan: The gaming laptop cooling pad features a low-noise turbo motor that runs at only 26dB. Allows the laptop to dissipate heat in strong winds, reduce noise and create a quiet environment. Comes with two USB 2.0 ports to transfer data or connect to other devices
Cons
  • Can't remember
