Review on Versatile Kiting Harness: Kitesurfing & Paragliding Equipment for Ground Handling by Ray Richards

Revainrating 2 out of 5

1-2 stars for kite equipment. 3-4 stars for Harness

I bought it to use as a kite harness for a paraglider wing. It works but I have found them to be inferior to the custom made straps I tried during training and can now see the difference. It's also definitely not something to fly with. That's why. The kiting clip in the glasses is a bit oversized. When kiting, you will be pulled forward because the braces are on your chest, causing back pain. A real paragliding harness, specially designed for flying, has clips in the lower parts that actually pull you over your buttocks. This way you have a lot more leverage and it's easier on your back. But it is well made, although the chest buckle was not sewn on and fell off on the first day of use. That being said, if you use this for utility/safety reasons, I feel like you're unlikely to fail. The straps and buckles are very heavy. And while I said you lean forward and hurt your back when paragliding kiting, it has a back brace that really helped. So it's not a bad product, just not what I would choose for paragliding kiting. I will happily leave it for another job.
