Suitable for moderate use

I bought this laptop to replace an old HP DV9730 as my main laptop. The two devices are wildly different in terms of processing power and features, but I paid around $1,100 for the HP and $279 for the HeroBook. Don't think you're getting a world-class laptop. The Chuwi feels solid, light and capable. I added an additional 256GB microSD card to the external slot to get a full 512GB of storage, although the specs say the TF slot can only hold up to 128GB. The laptop recognizes the card and I can add/remove as I wish. It charges at a reasonable price and has a good battery life that can last 8-10 hours. One thing I noticed and saw in some of these reviews is that there is an alleged charging issue. It should be noted that the charging port on the left is exactly the same size as the headphone jack on the right, and you can plug your charger into the headphone jack and think you should charge it, so be aware. The laptop is PLASTIC, contrary to some of the Q&A discussions above. Chuwi received a major Windows 10 update from Microsoft (version 2004) without any problems. dxdiag query on the run screen shows Windows 64-bit, Intel Celeron N4000C CPU @ 1.1 GHz (2 CPUs), 8192 MB RAM, Intel UHD Graphics 600 with 4134 MB display memory, Realtek audio speakers (sound ok), Realtek microphone , Microsoft USB 2.0 camera. I use Firefox as my browser and Malwarebytes along with Microsoft Defender to keep the bad guys at bay. The mouse pad is large and responsive. I noticed that the bottom right corner of the pad is for right-clicking. The keyboard layout is good and NOT backlit. I haven't found the laptop to get very hot, nor have I actually tried it, but it's definitely not a gaming laptop. I usually put it on a flat surface, it runs fine and doesn't overheat. The display is nice and clear. It's a good laptop for the money and the extra 256GB of storage makes it a lightweight travel companion with full Windows support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support that I've seen. The price has gone up a few times, so buy while it's under $300.
