Review on Grundfos 595926 Replacement Comfort Circulator by Dan Weeman

My original purchase of this valve was made AFTER reading numerous previous customer reviews of poor plastic construction and a tendency to leak. Despite my better knowledge, I bought it anyway and proceeded with the installation after carefully reading the instructions, which specifically warn against using tape or pipe sealant. I installed it according to the instructions and it's leaking horribly. I started from scratch and made sure it was installed correctly and not twisted. I turned the water back on only to find the leak (BIG LEAK) persisted. The extra effort of carefully tightening the connection caused the plastic valve to crack and fail completely! With no other options, I ordered a new valve. Upon delivery I found that the threads on the new valves were broken/damaged right out of the box! Didn't even try to install and sent it back. Based on my experience with this valve, I can only strongly advise against it! The plastic is very poorly made, tends to leak and is very brittle!
