Review on 🔍 Efficient Motorola CS3070 Handheld Barcode Reader with LED Single-Line Laser by John Rocha

August 2015: Some time ago (sorry I didn't update it sooner) Motorola released a firmware update that fixes the issue described below. Since then I do not have problems anymore. Well this is a great scanner that works well with my Macs. It's a nice little scanner (meaning the Bluetooth version of the CS3070). It's very compact, well built, scans quickly and feels good in your hand. Unfortunately, at the time of writing this article, it cannot reliably connect to a Mac via Bluetooth. It connects and then constantly loses connection and only works for a few seconds at a time. I have verified this on multiple computers running multiple versions of OS X up to the latest and with the latest firmware on the scanner. Motorola Technical Support was able to reproduce this as well, but couldn't find a solution yet. So that's a word of warning, if you're planning on using this with a Mac over Bluetooth you might want to go the other direction. It works great with iOS (iPhone and iPad). So if that's what you want to do, it might be a good choice.
