Pretty good POS gear

We bought two of these; The first worked perfectly and held a charge for the first week, and after that it didn't take a charge at all. We use the one that replaced it for about 1-2 months and haven't had any problems with it. There are some limitations on the barcodes read, but I'm not sure if it's a scanner or what device it's scanning to. For the money, this works well with our QB Enterprise Inventory program.

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • old

This product has expired after 1 use.

We have purchased two scanners from this seller. We used it once to scan meeting attendees' barcodes. One of them stopped working almost immediately and there is nothing we can do to get it working again. This is not a battery error as it does not work with the battery. Although we only used the product after the 30-day return period had expired. I advise against buying from this source. Since I need to replace it, I'll look elsewhere.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Hard to say

The scanner may need to be programmed for your specific needs.

Took me a few days to program this to how I needed it. The user manual that I downloaded is very difficult to read. (Approximately 157 pages) If you get a chance to hook it up to a computer you can see the programming and it works a lot easier than trying to scan all the codes the manual tells you to. However, once I was able to fix it (with a little help from our IT department), it's now working great!

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Sad packaging

Better than Scanfob2002 / OPN-2002

This scanner works perfectly for scanning books. It is compatible with SerialMagic software and works seamlessly with the smartphone I use. The beep was a little awkward when I originally used it out of the box, but the beep was easy to disable. I had two Scanfob2002/Opticon2002 scanners and encountered the same problems with both - about the same. Ownership time - so I decided to make changes to this scanner and I'm glad I did. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Appearance

Great scanner, cheaper than alternatives.

I bought this instead of Opticon 2005 because it was a newer technology and much cheaper. Pairing is very easy on the iPhone. Once paired, all you have to do is activate the device to wake it up, and from that moment it will pair itself. The other review that mentions the lid doesn't mention that you only have to remove the lid if you use an optional charging cradle, sold separately. The Mini-D USB port is very easy to access without removing the cover using the included cable.

  • Special offer

Excellent scanner (updated review)

August 2015: Some time ago (sorry I didn't update it sooner) Motorola released a firmware update that fixes the issue described below. Since then I do not have problems anymore. Well this is a great scanner that works well with my Macs. It's a nice little scanner (meaning the Bluetooth version of the CS3070). It's very compact, well built, scans quickly and feels good in your hand. Unfortunately, at the time of writing this article, it cannot reliably connect to a Mac via Bluetooth. It connects

Works great with iOS, no on-screen keyboard for Android

We're using a CS3070 Bluetooth scanner paired with a Nexus 7 at work to replace an old and expensive scanner. We wrote our own barcode inventory scanner and this is the best scanner option at a price we haven't found yet. It's very durable, lightweight, and the battery lasts for multiple shifts, even when connected via Bluetooth. It works well with Android, but you can't type on the built-in keyboard (that's Android's fault, not the scanner's). Paired with an iOS device, it works flawlessly and

Pros
  • Rugged design

  • Infinitely slow
