Review on πŸ” Efficient Motorola CS3070 Handheld Barcode Reader with LED Single-Line Laser by Don Kishore

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great with iOS, no on-screen keyboard for Android

We're using a CS3070 Bluetooth scanner paired with a Nexus 7 at work to replace an old and expensive scanner. We wrote our own barcode inventory scanner and this is the best scanner option at a price we haven't found yet. It's very durable, lightweight, and the battery lasts for multiple shifts, even when connected via Bluetooth. It works well with Android, but you can't type on the built-in keyboard (that's Android's fault, not the scanner's). Paired with an iOS device, it works flawlessly and allows the onscreen keyboard to be invoked by pressing the middle button. I was using an iPad with Excel installed and a Bluetooth keyboard/Belkin case attached, which also allowed me to connect the CS3070 to scan labels simultaneously. After scanning the barcode, it will automatically return to the next line. In total we will have over 8 Bluetooth tablet and scanner combos to control and track inventory. The Motorola CS3070 is great. We bought hand straps to connect to the ground. I only wish Android would allow the onscreen keyboard!

Pros
  • Rugged design
Cons
  • Infinitely slow
