I've seen some complaints that this case is counterfeit by another brand, but these cases have been around for literally decades, made by different companies with the same design pattern. What I like about them is that the clasps are stronger than some brands typically have. Harder to open is good. Because when they wear out, having thinner fasteners will be a disadvantage. I found that after a while the latch just wouldn't close because the plastic wasn't thick enough in that area. The only thing I never liked about them was the permanent label. It's not easy to remove. You can of course just stick another label over it, but that's not always nice when you do that. Especially if you keep changing labels. Also, although these cases are soft, they provide minimal protection for your standard hard drives in the event of a fall. Too much can go wrong with these mishandled discs. You'll likely survive a two- to three-foot drop onto a hard surface in this case, but that's about it -- and there are no guarantees. Slightly better than having the drive in an external enclosure. That being said, on those occasions I've dropped discs off six foot tall bookshelves (don't ask me why they were there) and they still worked, falling onto an edge rather than a flat surface.
