Honestly, this magnet is so strong it's almost annoying. It's hard to get it into the threaded hole without gluing to my oil pan first. I ended up just accepting the fact that it would stick to it, so I started brushing really well around the hole and then just sliding it into the hole. When I took it off during an oil change, there were no metal shavings on it, so I'm guessing my '97 Camry is still running with 386,000 miles! I am happy with this drain plug and hope it stays clean for many years to come.
