About 400 MB/s on USB 3.2 is fine. Slightly overpriced

I would be much happier if I paid $20 for it instead of $39. You will never reach the theoretical maximum of around 625 MB/s. , but I want to get at least 500 MB/s from it. It is well made but does not perform as advertised. "Backing up and storing files over USB is faster than ever, with read and write speeds in excess of 900MB/s/600MB/s when connected to a Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.1 Gen 2 port. . " . Well it's on USB 3.2 Gen1 and gets 400MB/s when I write this by writing a serial string of zeros in 4K chunks. When connected to USB-C to USB-C will Achieving 960MB/s to 1Gb/s is great if you have a port, but many of the machines I'll be working with have USB 3.1/3.2 and it would be nice if the performance was actually closer to the spec for a mainstream one interface would come close.
