About 400 MB/s on USB 3.2 is fine. Slightly overpriced

I would be much happier if I paid $20 for it instead of $39. You will never reach the theoretical maximum of around 625 MB/s. , but I want to get at least 500 MB/s from it. It is well made but does not perform as advertised. "Backing up and storing files over USB is faster than ever, with read and write speeds in excess of 900MB/s/600MB/s when connected to a Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.1 Gen 2 port. . " . Well it's on USB 3.2 Gen1 and gets 400MB/s when I write this by writing a serial string of…

Gets Hot - Computer Accessories & Peripherals

Interface works, memory fits but chassis gets very hot, heatsink on NVME doesn't touch chassis so no direct heat transfer to processor. a metal case that would help. In order for the case to function as a heatsink, a different type of closure is required. I ended up buying a heatsink: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09C6HCVLT?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details which obviously doesn't allow the cap to go back on the case and I had to cut out some of the plastic from that end so that would fit…

I love this little jobber duber!

I like that thing. No, I won't be using it as an external drive, so heat issues weren't an issue for me. I've used this on two laptops, one mine, one my son's to clone C: drives. Both 2.5 inch SATA SSDs and NVME drives can be used in our ACER laptops. My laptop was brand new with 265GB NVME and his was a 1TB mechanical drive. Some time ago I cloned his 500GB NVME mechanical drive and then after cleaning I formatted his mechanical drive and used it as a drive. Now it needs a bigger C: drive, so…

  • Hard drive case
Cons
  • So far so good

I bought this case to take my NVMe drive with me on the go and it's great for that. My first impression was terrible and I almost returned it until I realized my mistake was the problem. I had a USB-C to USB-A cable in my bag, so I grabbed it and plugged the drive into my laptop. The performance was terrible - the max read and write speeds were 40MB/s HOWEVER I found out later that I was using the USB 2.0 cable that came with the charger. When I switched to the included USB 3.0 to USB-C cable…

No tools required, quick and easy, light weight - love it

I upgraded the SSDs for two laptops so this is the second case I've bought. I'm a bit frugal, I like spending money on a good cause that works, but not necessarily for style or because everyone has it. I like it because its function is on more than one level. Yes, it supports high data transfer rate and convenient size. It's also four times smaller than the first case I bought. Requires 0 tools, easy. Loosen the end, spread it apart, insert the drive, secure the end with a clip, now slide the…
