I am temporarily disabled and need to cook on our counter island. This unit works great for most of our meals for two. It takes some skill to learn how to cook with an electric skillet, but I think it's a skill. It fits 4 eggs and has a place to turn. Use butter, butter or spray, nonstick doesn't stick as well and eggs need extra fat to move freely. I usually cook below 300 so the food doesn't sizzle or splatter, and I recommend placing it on a baking sheet or kitchen towel to keep grease off the counter. It heats up very quickly so you don't have to wait less than a minute like you would with a hob and it's ready to use.
