Pros: GREAT for catching litter that gets thrown out of box - probably the best blanket I've ever had for catching litter lying around. Cons: My cat sometimes thinks she's completely in the litter box because her head/torso is inside, but her butt is still hanging outside the crate and she ends up urinating right outside the crate (she's clearly a brilliant kitty). I definitely recommend putting a puppy pee pad between layers of mat to soak up any spills. But if the kitten has also dropped the filler from the box onto the mat, most of the time the filler will turn into dirt and clog the pores in the mat. When this happens, cleaning is incredibly difficult and frustrating. I resorted to using cotton swabs to get rid of most of the mess that had lodged in my pores and then ran them under my bathroom faucet. The whole mat gets wet and then the tub needs cleaning, but at least the mat isn't fabric or carpet so it dries quickly. She too had a chair accident once - it was only once and you can imagine how much fun the clean up was. Needless to say, I would get rid of this rug if defecation incidents became a regular occurrence. This is the best blanket I have found for catching litter and it aggressively throws litter every day. So it's not so bad if she has to cum a month or two a month when she has a pee accident. If your cat misses regularly I would not recommend this mat.
