They work pretty well
We have a water softener; therefore there is no chlorine in our water. Because of this, we get a pink and black ring quite often. I have found that with these little balls on the rim the ring starts to appear after about 8 days instead of 4 so it certainly helps me to keep the toilets clean. I have heard that the bleach pills that are added to the toilet tank will damage parts of the toilet tank; At least they don't go in the tank.
