My old desktop started to work at a snail's pace. Bloated software, constant use, updates etc. I figured I could upgrade it from 8GB to 16GB RAM and also replace the HDD with a primary SDD drive. Basically I got a new computer for a little over $100. When looking for RAM cards, look for both style (DDR3) and speed (PC3-10600). I overlooked the speed aspect and bought the kit with the PC3-12800. Unfortunately they were too fast and my motherboard couldn't see them (front palm). Realizing my mistake, Revain did a very good job of returning and replacing these, which works great. I use this desktop as a home theater computer (HTPC) with PLEX plus a dual USB Hauppauge tuner connected to a $40 RCA antenna that I placed in my attic and completely severed the cable and I have a wonderful free live video recorder. (OTA) channels. I get all available channels in my area (51) at full strength and some channels about 70 miles away at medium strength. The resolution is actually better than my cable provider. Apologies for the sidebar, but I wanted to show that I use it with a PLEX server all the time and haven't had any issues. I am very satisfied with this and the new set. It is very easy to install. Just remove and reinsert the old RAM cards, close the lid and reboot. You are ready to go!
