Excellent balance and feels good in the hand. Also not as thick grip as the Estwing which is also poorly balanced being all metal. I returned the 20 oz Estwing and got this 15 oz plumb bob. 15 or 16 ounces is the ideal weight I feel. I wish the chisel was a hair's breadth wider, but I'm sure there will be times when I wish it were narrower as it is when I use it. I ripped open the package as soon as I took it out and felt it in my hand. My favorite hammer for everything. **Update** I was wrong. It is not necessary that the part of the bit is wider. I've been using this hammer all day and not only was the balance perfect but the hammer and chisel parts were perfect and great weight, size and width. 100% 5 stars. By far my favorite hammer. Easily hits my Estwing stone hammer. Highly recommended and also ideal weight.
