Light enough not to tire you. I bought this to remove paint from concrete block walls and it works better than I thought it would.

I have a landscaping business and use brick hammers for stone work BUT they are great for weeding too. especially small trees and vines. I was so tired of being hit by wooden-handled brick hammers that I tried it. I liked it so much that I bought it for my assistant.

I would give this hammer 6 stars if possible. I have used many different brands of hammers on stone and will never buy anything but this precision hammer again. Excellent weight and balance and so far after 4 months of daily use I haven't noticed much dullness on the side of the chisel.

Plumb used to be a leading manufacturer of tools in the US, particularly axes and hammers. This brick hammer was imported, it had a cheap cast head mounted on the shaft at an angle of about 20 degrees from vertical. In other words, it would be useless for a professional to shape or pierce any type of brick. Revain quickly paid for the return postage at his own expense; I immediately replaced this hammer with an Estwing which was more expensive but much better.

Excellent balance and feels good in the hand. Also not as thick grip as the Estwing which is also poorly balanced being all metal. I returned the 20 oz Estwing and got this 15 oz plumb bob. 15 or 16 ounces is the ideal weight I feel. I wish the chisel was a hair's breadth wider, but I'm sure there will be times when I wish it were narrower as it is when I use it. I ripped open the package as soon as I took it out and felt it in my hand. My favorite hammer for everything. **Update** I was wrong.
